What is the age limit for various categories

1.

General - 25 years as on 1st May 2012.
2. OBC - age relaxation of 3 years
3. SC - age relaxation of 5 years
4. ST - age relaxation of 5 years
5. PWD - age relaxation of 5 years
6. Ex-Serviceman - as per Government norms.
7. KM - age relaxation of 5 years
8. PWD & OBC - age relaxation of 8 years
9. PWD & SC/ST - age relaxation of 10 years
10. KM & OBC - age relaxation of 8 years
11. KM & SC/ST - age relaxation of 10 years


What are the cutoff points for various categories?

1.

General - First class for both Engineering disciplines and HR.
2. OBC - First class for both Engineering disciplines and HR.
3. SC - Pass in Engineering Disciplines and HR.
4. ST - Pass in Engineering Disciplines and HR.
5. PWD - Pass in Engineering Disciplines and HR.


Do I need to send a Original Challan (Company Copy) ?

1. General - Yes - for 500/-
2. OBC - Yes - for 500/-
3. SC - No Application Fee
4. ST - No Application Fee
5. PWD - No Application Fee

Which are the written test centres I can choose?

Choice of centre includes:

Do I need to pay the application fee (Gen/OBC only) and have the Bank Challan and Journal number ready before filling up the application form?

Yes. You will need to provide certain details from the Bank challan at the time of submission of the application form..

 

What is Journal No. ?

On submission of the challan unique transaction number (Journal Number) will be generated and the same would be written by the staff at the Bank. The bank portion of the challan will be retained by the staff and the remaining 2 portions will be given to the candidate. The candidate is to ensure that the ‘Journal Number’ is entered on the challan before leaving the bank. Kindly insist the Bank to provide clear & readable Journal No. of the Challan.


What is the amount payable for application fee?

The amount for the fee is 500/- for GEN/OBC candidate. SC/ST & PWD candidates are exempted from payment of application fee.




To which address should I send the print out of the application form and Compay’s copy of bank challan having Journal No.?

Before which date should I send the print out of the application form and bank challan(for GEN/OBC candidates)?

The printout of the application form and bank challan (wherever required) is to be sent, so as to reach Post Box No.3076, Lodi Road, New Delhi-110003 on or before 31 May 2012.

Which are the documents to be sent at Post Box No.3076, Lodi Road, New Delhi-110003 ?

1. Print out of the filled online application form having online Application Number with phtograph affixed  and duly signed.

2. Original Bank Challan(Company Copy) having Journal No. given by Bank(For Gen/OBC candidates Only).

Documents to be sent through ordinary post only.

Do NOT send any copy of the certificate alongwith the duly completed application form. Original certificates of the short listed candidates will be scrutinized / verified at the time of interview.


What is an Online Application Number?

Online Application Number is a unique number which is auto generated and allotted to you on successful submission of online application form and will appear on print version of the application form. This Number will be required for accessing, downloading and printing the written test call letter that will be placed on the BEL website on 18 June 2012 at 1400 hours


Before which date should I send the Challan Copy (Company Copy)?

  • The Challan Copy having Journal No. given by Bank must be sent to the above mentioned address on or before 31 May 2012 (for GEN/OBC candidates).


    Will candidates be eligible for reimbursement of cost of travel for appearing for the written test?

    No. Candidates will not be eligible for reimbursement of the cost of travel for attending the written test. Outstation candidates shortlisted for the interview will be eligible for reimbursement of II Class to and fro train fare by the shortest route from the correspondence address to the place of interview.

    Candidates who have specialized in disciplines like Electronics & Electrical, Electronics & Instrumentation & Control, Information Technology, Information Science, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial & Production Engineering etc. in Engineering / Technology are NOT eligible to apply for the post. Candidates are required to carefully select the option of degree/qualification specified in the drop down only.

    I have entered some incorrect details in the Online Application Form, How can I correct the same?

    Candidates are requested to take utmost care while filling in the details in online application form. There is no provision for correcting the details entered in the online application form once the same is submitted.
